The New York Mets added to their bullpen choices by signing former Chicago Cubs nearer Adbert Alzolay to a minor-league contract, in line with a number of stories Friday.

The Mets and RHP Adbert Alzolay agreed to a minors deal, league sources advised The Athletic. It’s a two-year deal; Alzolay had Tommy John surgical procedure final 12 months.

Alzolay was restricted to 18 video games in 2024 due to a proper elbow damage that finally required Tommy John surgical procedure. In 2023, he went 2-5 with a 2.67 ERA and 22 saves for the Chicago Cubs.

The 29-year-old right-hander is 12-25 with a 4.04 earned-run common over components of six seasons (2019-24) with the Cubs.
